The Christmas Market in Cardiff’s city centre has been run for more than 20 years by the good people at Craft*FolK, supporting local talent and showcasing stalls from an eclectic mix of new and returning exhibitors. Wander the pedestrian streets – St John Street, Working Street, Hills Street, Trinity Street and the Hayes – to discover some fine handmade gifts.

Bath Christmas Market

Until 15 December
This season, you’ll discover 150 chalets lining Bath’s picturesque Georgian streets, full of personalised presents, Christmas decorations, handcrafted jewellery and more. Explore some of the best work by local makers, while supporting the city’s small businesses. Exeter Cathedral Christmas Market

During the Christmas period Exeter Cathedral is a hub of festive activity, with carol services, concerts and more. Out on the Cathedral Green the Christmas Market returns for its seventh year, offering a selection of crafts, fresh food, Bavarian-style bars and a bustling atmosphere. Salisbury Christmas Fayre

30 November–24 December
Returning for its eighth year, Salisbury Christmas Fayre promises to transform Guildhall Square into a winter wonderland, complete with German market-style chalets and loads of festive events. As well as the fayre, you can have a go on the city’s festive ice rink and enjoy a full programme of entertainment, street performances and related activities.

Bristol’s Christmas Market

Until 23 December
Bristol’s Christmas Market returns to the heart of the city again this year, bringing with it 50 stalls and loads of entertainment, including the big man himself, Santa, with his reindeer. While the market stalls offer a great opportunity to get some last-minute gifts, over at the Jäger Barn Bar you can enjoy live music with heated seating and try your hand at a spot of curling.

Winter Wonderland Hyde Park

Every year, London’s Hyde Park comes alive with the festive extravaganza that is Winter Wonderland. There you’ll find the world’s tallest observation wheel, the UK’s largest open-air ice rink, an après ski-style bar and loads of shows for all the family, including Paddington on Ice.
