Top wildlife attraction holds photography competition

Get your camera at the ready as WWT searches for the best wildlife photography taken at their centres in the South West, Wales and beyond.

The sun is shining (hopefully), so there’s no better time to get out and practice your camera skills. If you’re looking for a new challenge, WWT are running their annual wildlife photography competition. You could win a great prize!

WWT centres are packed with trails, which are bristling with wildlife. From insects to amphibians, waders to warblers and mammals to migrant birds, this is your chance to share stunning portraits, interesting behaviour or even animals in harmony with their environment.

All photos must be taken at a WWT wetland centre between 1 June and 31 October 2017.

Summer is a time of lush greenery, sparkling water and bright plumage, while autumn will bring migrating flocks and magical light. WWT centres offer exciting new discoveries and stunning backdrops, so why not get out in the fresh air and see what you can capture?

You can get snapping at 5 locations across the GWR network, including the London Wetland Centre at Barnes, Llanelli in south Wales, Arundel in Sussex and Steart Marshes in Somerset and their flagship centre at Slimbridge in Gloucestershire.

The deadline for entries is 1 November 2017.  For full details of how to enter and all the rules, visit wwt.org.uk/waterlifephoto. The winning photographer will receive a pair of the latest lightweight and compact Leica Trinovid HD 32 binoculars, worth £825.

Good luck!
