The sky’s the limit at this new London rooftop restaurant

With great food, delicious cocktails and incredible panoramic views, the brand-new Bourne & Hollingsworth restaurant is this winter’s hot ticket, and if it’s not featured on Made in Chelsea soon, then what is the world even coming to?

The creative minds behind lifestyle company and pop-up pros Bourne & Hollingsworth have branched out, setting up another awesome venue that is a truly beautiful rooftop dining and drinking experience. Situated in the heart of the West-End, just by the National Portrait Gallery, the gorgeous Garden Room is elegant and informal. Think lazy suppers or an after-work glass of bubbly and you’re on the right tracks.

Great views at Garden Room

An evening here offers the perfect opportunity for a catch-up with friends or, should romance be on the agenda, a wonderful place to wine and dine yours truly.

Walk through the lobby of the Assembly Hotel, ascend to the tenth floor via the lift, waltz into the Garden Room and you’ll find yourself in what feels like the set of a Nora Ephron classic (that’s Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail, btw). That’s the vibe here: charming and just a little eclectic.

You might not think a tenth-floor restaurant could offer such a stunning view of the city but from every table you can see iconic London landmarks and the distant traffic as it weaves through the bustling streets. At night, the Garden Room is spectacular, with each table glowing by candlelight, and with views of the magical illuminated capital.

Light and airy atmosphere

They serve lunch and dinner, with brasserie style and seasonally inspired food, so whether you’re after small sharing plates or a three-course feast, there’s something for everyone. Dishes include grilled prawn and chestnut mushroom skewers served with béarnaise sauce, and slow cooked spiced lamb with prunes and sweet potato mash.

The Garden Room is open now and taking bookings. Strike while the iron’s hot and reserve a table at this gem of a place, if only for the view.
