Discover hidden gems on the Severn Beach Line

Discover some of the country’s hippest neighbourhoods when you travel the Severn Beach Line, and you can travel from Bristol Temple Meads to anywhere on the line for as little as £3, off-peak day return.

Montpelier

This chic suburb was last year named the hippest place in the UK, defeating some of London’s trendiest boroughs. Cafe Kino is a local favourite, serving excellent vegan and vegetarian food alongside an impressive selection of cakes. Grab a seat outside and watch how Bristol’s coolest crowd unwind.

Redland

A popular neighbourhood with students for many years, Redland has recently picked up plaudits for being home to one of the area’s top eateries. The independently owned bistro, Wilson’s, specialises in exceptional British cuisine using the finest ingredients, and this year was voted one of the UK’s best restaurants.

Clifton Down

Clifton Village is an elegant and leafy part of town that’s got bags of character, not to mention some of the city’s favourite cafes and restaurants and the popular Clifton Arcade. Best of all, it’s also home to Bristol Zoo Gardens, which boasts more than 400 species, including monkeys, lions and penguins.

Severn Beach

At the end of the line is Severn Beach, known for its huge, expansive skies that let you see for miles around. Just 40 minutes from Bristol Temple Meads, Severn Beach is a great place to go walking and bird-spotting, with over 250 different species recorded in the area. It’s the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of busy city life.
