The winter ice rink at London’s Natural History Museum is one of the capital’s most iconic attractions during the festive period, featuring a glittering tree and thousands of fairy lights. There’s even an alpine-style café bar, where you can enjoy a warming drink following a glide on the ice. Tickets must be booked in advance for specific days and adult prices start from £12.65 per person.
Moments from Windsor and Eton Central train station are the pretty Alexandra Gardens, where the annual Windsor on Ice event takes place. This family friendly ice rink is set to draw in the crowds until January 2020 and offers special sessions for children, couples and groups. Adult tickets cost £12.50 plus 50p booking fee online.
Nestled in Bath’s beautiful Royal Victoria Park, close to the iconic townhouses of The Circus and the famous Royal Crescent, is the city’s show-stopping festive attraction: Bath on Ice. Experience the thrill of skating under the stars at one of the rink’s weeknight sessions, or book tickets for a day-time skate from 10:30am on weekends or 11:45am Monday to Friday. The price of an adult ticket is £11.50.
Brighton’s very own exotic palace is given the full festive treatment with the arrival of its spectacular ice rink. Cardiff’s Christmassy ice rink can be found in the awesome Winter Wonderland at City Hall Lawn. The ice rink has had the ultimate makeover, developed into an exciting Alpine Ice Trail, which takes skaters on a tour of the Winter Wonderland. At 250m-long, it is the only one of its kind in the UK and well worth a visit!
