Explore Wales’ hidden sites

September is Open Doors month in Wales, which means you have a rare opportunity to see inside hundreds of the country’s most coveted landmarks – and it might not cost you a penny.

From castles to bridges, and from chapels to boathouses, there’s an extraordinary variety of fun and fascinating locations to experience for the first time when you attend a Cadw Open Doors event.

Among the hidden treasures permitting the public a peek this month are Dylan Thomas Boathouse in Carmarthenshire, a Buddhist centre in Swansea, Newport Transport Bridge, and a Baptist church, a masonic hall and Castle Coch in Cardiff.
