Bath

The 19th-century novelist William Thackeray once wrote: ‘As for Bath, all history went and bathed and drank the waters there.’ And lucky for us, much of history left its mark before it moved on.

Bath is home to the remarkable Roman Baths, with its preserved remains of one of the finest spas of the ancient world. This, together with the city’s fabulous Georgian architecture, helps make Bath an UNESCO World Heritage site – and well worth a visit.
