Giant LEGO animals arrive at Slimbridge

From 7 July, Slimbridge Wetland Centre will be home to some very special guests. Huge LEGO creatures, including a giant otter, will be arriving for the season and entertaining visitors.

There will be 11 individually-designed brick animals dotted around the centre, mingling with their real-life cousins. The colourful creatures will form part of a LEGO brick-animal trail for kids and big kids alike, helping inspire a better future for nature.

Some of the models have been inspired by the animals that can be found at the centre, including a Hawaiian goose (the world’s rarest goose), a red breasted goose, a mallard and a North American River Otter. There will also be an amazing twelve-times life size dragonfly.

The fun doesn’t stop there. You can also book yourself a place on a LEGO workshop for your visit to Slimbridge Wetland Centre. Experts will help you build your very own version of Sam the short-eared owl to take home. For more information and how to book, visit the website.

The WWT LEGO Brick-animal trail will be at Slimbridge Wetland Centre from 7 July until 23 September.
